Scott A. Tilley, Financial Advisor, Chartered Financial Analyst®, (CFA®) is a more than 30-year veteran of the investment industry and a senior managing director at BB&T Scott & Stringfellow. He began his career with BB&T Scott & Stringfellow in 1988, then moved to Merrill Lynch in 2000, where he spent the next 18 years. He returned to BB&T Scott & Stringfellow in 2018.
Scott was blessed to have his father, W. Allen Tilley, as his business partner and mentor for 21 years. Many of the investment disciplines employed for our clients today were taught and honed during their time together. Scott seeks to preserve and grow his clients’ wealth by managing risk through prudent asset allocation and security selection decisions. He is a fundamental value investor who prefers individual securities, and he desires to have growing cash flows from the investment portfolios he manages. He aims to keep his clients fully informed through timely and responsive communication. Most importantly, Scott believes that transparency, integrity and trust are essential to building a successful investment plan.
Another lesson Scott learned from his father was to be a responsible citizen, which he has demonstrated in his continued support of the High Point community. He has served as chairman of the Salvation Army, Boys & Girls Club, the Kiwanis Club of High Point, the Miracle Field, the investment committee of the High Point Community Foundation, the High Point University Board of Visitors, High Point Partners, and, most recently, Business High Point – Chamber of Commerce. Scott currently serves on the board of High Point Baseball Inc., which operates the High Point Rockers baseball organization.
Scott enjoys spending time with his two children, Samantha and Scout, most outdoor activities and reading. He lives on the family farm in the Millis Downs area of High Point.
Vicki joined BB&T Scott & Stringfellow in 2018, bringing with her 17 years of industry experience, 15 of which was spent working with Scott and his father at Merrill Lynch. Vicki oversees client service and operational functions.
